He worked extremely hard to provide for his family even if that required working extra long days or even weekends. This man had his pager and laptop with him everywhere just in case he may be needed at work. He even went as far as to wanting to work while he was in the hospital. I vividly remember my Mom having many conversations with him about how he was "too nice" to the people he worked with and that he needed to learn to say no.
Besides work, he lived to help in any way possible with sports. He enjoyed watching games but soon found himself running the score clock and keeping the book at games. This even happened after all of his own kids were out of high school sports. He just couldn't give it up!
His other love (besides my Mom, of course) was FARMING! He lived for planting and harvest when he could take his vacation days from work to help on the farm! Mom didn't always appreciate that, but it was just a happy time for him.
He was also one proud Grandpa. He bragged to anyone and everyone that would listen about Dylan and Jacob.
He loved every minute with them and I know he's just as proud of Brynzlee and Landon!
My Dad and I always had a interesting relationship. I was his "baby" and I think he had a very hard time with me growing up. I had to give him many pep talks to ensure that it was okay if I grew up. I'm sure Mom often got tired of the bickering back and forth that we did.
Today we celebrate my Dad's 9th anniversary of gaining his Angel Wings. According to anyone who knew him, it was way too soon, but according to God's plan, it was perfect timing!

Each of these past 9 years have been tough to get through without you. I often wonder how you would feel about how much our family has changed since you left this world. This year is going to be especially tough without you as I walk down the aisle on my wedding day without you by my side... that's definitely not how I dreamed my wedding day would go. Lucky for me, you gave me 2 pretty awesome brothers who will step in to take your place. I know you'll be there right with us that day as you are every other day.
