Daddy's Little Girl

My siblings and I were very lucky to be blessed with this man as our Dad.

He worked extremely hard to provide for his family even if that required working extra long days or even weekends.  This man had his pager and laptop with him everywhere just in case he may be needed at work.  He even went as far as to wanting to work while he was in the hospital.  I vividly remember my Mom having many conversations with him about how he was "too nice" to the people he worked with and that he needed to learn to say no.

Besides work, he lived to help in any way possible with sports.  He enjoyed watching games but soon found himself running the score clock and keeping the book at games.  This even happened after all of his own kids were out of high school sports.  He just couldn't give it up!

His other love (besides my Mom, of course) was FARMING!  He lived for planting and harvest when he could take his vacation days from work to help on the farm!  Mom didn't always appreciate that, but it was just a happy time for him.

He was also one proud Grandpa.  He bragged to anyone and everyone that would listen about Dylan and Jacob.

He loved every minute with them and I know he's just as proud of Brynzlee and Landon!

My Dad and I always had a interesting relationship.  I was his "baby" and I think he had a very hard time with me growing up.  I had to give him many pep talks to ensure that it was okay if I grew up.  I'm sure Mom often got tired of the bickering back and forth that we did.

Today we celebrate my Dad's 9th anniversary of gaining his Angel Wings.  According to anyone who knew him, it was way too soon, but according to God's plan, it was perfect timing!

Dad,

Each of these past 9 years have been tough to get through without you.  I often wonder how you would feel about how much our family has changed since you left this world.  This year is going to be especially tough without you as I walk down the aisle on my wedding day without you by my side... that's definitely not how I dreamed my wedding day would go.  Lucky for me, you gave me 2 pretty awesome brothers who will step in to take your place.  I know you'll be there right with us that day as you are every other day.

I love you soo much and miss you with each passing day!

Love,

Your Baby Girl

3

3 years.... 3 years since I saw that face that I will never ever forget.  I just can't seem to understand it.  Some days it feels like it was just yesterday and other days it feels like so long ago.

It's the days leading up to this that get me.  I try to hang onto every last memory of Robert that I have because I will forever love and cherish them all.  Our last dinner, grocery trip, church visit, phone call, wedding registry adventure, party we attended ... etc...

He was my world, my whole entire world for over 2 years.  I couldn't remember what life was like before him.

3 years ago, this day started like any other normal day.  I wish I would've held on to him a little tighter and talked to him a little longer that morning.  If only I would've known that he would leave for work and never make it back home

A lot has happened in these past three years, but through it all I've felt him right beside me and supporting me.  I'm confident in knowing that he had a hand in sending Bill my way and I am forever grateful to have a man that I will be calling my husband in 6 and 1/2 months.  Also, I'm so lucky to have a man that understands my past and supports me through the grief process.

I'm just so thankful for every day, hour, minute, and second that I had to share with Robert.  He was just a little piece of heaven sent to me for such a short time and brought me into his family and circle of friends.  For that, I am forever grateful.

Robert William Connor - I love you to the moon and I look forward to the day that we meet again!

Happy "Angel Wing" Day!

Chapter 2

I'm ecstatic to announce that Chapter 2 of my life is beginning!  It actually began on February 22, 2014 when I went on my very first date with Bill. I was scared, nervous, and shaking as I was driving to El Corral to meet him, but little did I know, it would be the first day of the rest of my life.
The very first picture I took of him

Three years ago, I never would've dreamed that I'd be writing about a Chapter 2, nor did I ever believe it would happen.  Robert and I were living our engaged life looking forward to our wedding, but God had a very different plan.

I spent hours talking to God asking him to guide me through my life, and he sent Bill my way!  How lucky am I to have a man that is so giving, considerate, understanding, and accepting of all I've been through.

Bill and I were engaged on February 4, 2015, and we're looking forward to our wedding on November 14!  I am so thankful that God chose him to be my Chapter 2, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him!

Life has taught me to enjoy all of the little moments because someday I will look back and they will be big moments!

Keep your eyes open for this blog to be moving.  I'm in the works of creating a new blog ....

Stay tuned! :)
